The History of New Zealand Corvettes

New Zealand Corvettes is the national Corvette club of New Zealand.

NZ Corvettes humble beginning was back in 1980, when a few enthusiasts got together and started up the NZ Corvette Register. The club quickly grew and at one point had about 500 members. However not all those listed were interested in being part of a club, so the name was changed to NZ Corvettes and it became an enthusiasts club rather than the register of all known cars. Membership is now around 270.

NZ Corvettes is a non profit organisation and holds three annual events each year where all are welcome. Our Summer run alternates between the North and South Islands each year so we each get a turn having a long distance road tour and the Winter run consists of two events held almost simultaneously.

One is for the South Island contingent who regularly trek to Hamner Springs for a weekend and the North Islanders get together in Taupo where there is a racetrack for those who really want some action. Membership is NZ$30.00 per year and three newsletters are provided. International members are welcome also.
